North Raleigh Ministries (Crisis Center, Food Pantry & Thrift Shoppe)

North Raleigh Ministries was founded in 2004 with the goal of providing food, financial assistance and Christian love to our North Raleigh neighbors in need. The ministry is comprised of three elements: a Food Pantry to assure that families and individuals do not go hungry, a Crisis Center to provide emergency monetary assistance and a Thrift Shoppe that provides operational revenues for the ministry.

Clients come to us from referrals and word of mouth. They receive a warm welcome, and are treated with kindness and dignity. Our staff of trained volunteers meets one-on-one to assess each client's individual situation and to develop a plan to meet their needs to the greatest extent possible. Some clients may be referred to one of our many collaborative partners for additional assistance.  NRM also offers job counseling for individuals in career transition.

Since opening our doors, NRM has provided food for more than 25,000 adults and children, financial assistance to thousands of families facing eviction and prevented thousands more from going cold by helping with gas and electric utility bills.  All of these tasks have been carried out by a staff of angels – our volunteers.
